It represents the mean of the aggregated nutrients of a sample of 9 brands and sub-brands of ricemilk available in New Zealand and Australia in 2011, produced mostly in Australia. This nutritional profile can be summarised as being, mainly, biased towards excess of sugar, low in saturated fat, low in protein, fat and fiber, and high in carbohydrate and sodium. It also provides about 121mg of calcium per 100ml.
This average is more representative of those who consume many brands of ricemilk indistinctly, as well as of the population, in general. However, it is less representative of the universe of ricemilk brands on offer and of those consumers who prefer a particular brand of ricemilk, situations for which a prototypical nutritional profile seems more relevant (foodBNI).
