BNI™ 068.14f: Mixed cereals crisps (average)

BNI™ 068.14f4: Mixed cereals crisps (average), NZ, 2012.

This is the nutritional value of mixed cereals crisps2. Below is an analysis of the average aggregated nutritional value of a sample of 13 products3. The sample was collated as part of a research on the nutritional composition of snacks in New Zealand. This nutritional profile can be summarised as being, mainly, biased towards excess of fat, adequate in carbohydrate and sugar, high in saturated fat and sodium, and low in protein and fiber.

This nutritional value may be more representative of those who change brands and flavors often, as well as of the population, in general. However, it is less representative of the universe of brands on offer and of those consumers who prefer a particular brand and flavor of mixed cereals crisps, where a prototypical nutritional value may be more relevant (see foodBNI).

2. Snacks made from a mixed of several cereals, or a mix of potato and cereals, extruded or otherwise.
3. Although 13 products seems like a small number, it actually comprises most, if not all, of the available mixed cereals crisps in three national supermarket chains.
4. It appears as BNI 70.14f in the book, although this was a consequence of an error when averaging fiber.
