foodBNI™ 12.21-f: Harraways traditional wholegrain oats, Harraways & Sons, NZ, 2011.
'Harraways traditional wholegrain oats' represents the prototypical (median) oat breakfast cereal, taken from a sample of 14 brands. The sample was collated as part of a research on the nutritional composition of breakfast cereals in New Zealand.
This prototype is more representative of those who buy a particular brand of oat cereal, as well as of the overall 'universe' of brands. However, an average based on mean values for the aggregated sample (dietBNI) may be more representative of those who change brands often, as well as of the population, in general.
