BNI™ 185.00f: Canola oil, USDA, USA, 2010.
Canola oil is a vegetable oil extracted from canola seeds. It is used here as a real-food fat BNI referent as it represents an 'extreme' case of unbalanced food for fat content, as only fat plays a nutritional role in this food and it is a food with one of the lowest saturated fat contents per 100g/ml. For a theoretical referent, see BNI 185.00f, 'pure fat' referent.
